My allergies have been causing me serious problems over the last week, and I don’t know how much longer I can deal with it. I’ve felt sick for a week now, with some improvement but nothing close to normal. Not fun. Why do the trees and grass hate my immune and respiratory system so?

Kleenex must be loving me though. I can’t seem to go anywhere without a box of tissues, and I’ve been going through it like it was going out of style. I bought 6 more boxes this weekend, and I’ve already gone through 2.

The drugs (Mucinex, Afrin spray, Claritin, Zyrtec, Robitussin cough suppressant, Ricola and Halls cough drops — I don’t mess around when it comes to pharmacology, I cover all the bases) help, but make me soooo tired. I woke up at 7 to take my meds, walk Trooper, and went back to bed until 9:30. I started doing some laundry — at least that doesn’t require a lot of effort on my part. I’ve been yawning and gazing longingly at the couch. I know I’ll end up taking a nap here in a bit.

I had all these plans to catch up on things this long weekend. I’ve done none of it except start a new knitting project and buy more Kleenex.

The couch is calling. Naps can be projects, right?

On Neglect

So I’ve been neglecting the blog lately. I know, bad blogger. Just been really slammed with real life and such, so something had to give. Since I still have to walk the dog, fix food, go to work, etc, the blog was neglected.

I usually try and catch up on weekends, but this past weekend I went home to my parents for Mother’s Day and didn’t do anything related to the blog. I did, however, do lots of good family things.

Even The Big Black Dog got in on things – Mom gave him a bath (thanks, Mom!) when I was home, and he is so pretty and shiny. I’ll try and get a picture up soon.

H1N1 (Swine) Flu Pictures

I’ve been slammed with other things lately, which is why I haven’t gotten around to posting anything – not even about the swine flu.

Doesn’t mean I haven’t been keeping an eye on things, though. Part of my job as a librarian is to look for the good stuff and collect it, which I did for work. Maybe if things settle down I’ll collect it all here. Until then, check out pictures of the outbreak from the Boston Globe blog, The Big Picture.
